Day #42 - #51

Yeah been slacking. Been busy. Life getting in the way of blogging. That and a slew of other excuses that are frivolous. Flat out, didn't blog, okay, next thing.

Bad mom: kid is still dancing while going to physical therapy. On late dance nights she isn't eating dinner. I didn't check her homework a few nights even though I said I would. Let the kid do additional dance classes to prep for dance team tryout, as if she doesn't have enough to do. Banned the kid from any more extracurricular activities due to upcoming dance recital.

Good mom: did check the kid's homework on other nights and helped as needed. Played chauffeur to the kids hectic schedule. Fixed her lunches. Fixed her breakfasts. Taught her how to make soap scrubs. Almost finished a stuffed animal for her. Helped her make felt stuffed animals.

Proud mom: all 'A' progress report, doing well in dance team practice, coping well with a 'D' on a homework assignment, hasn't been caught acting up at school, does stuff around the house without copping to much of an attitude, and she is grateful for what she has in life.

Phew!

Day #41

February 21, 2013

Bad mom: kid stayed late at dance, didn't get home until after 9:00, went to bed well past her bedtime, and ate pretzels, yogurt and Mt Dew for dinner.

Good mom: kid's private lesson was to work on stretching, proper form, and more stretching so she doesn't hurt herself

Proud mom: kid finished all her homework before dance class

Amused and perplexed

Kid had to do a peer review of her essay. One of the boys saw her at her paintball party and knows the kid is "rough and tumble" whereas he was playing paintball and was worried about ruining his shoes. Another kid was just a tool and critiqued her use of commas. The third boy told her that she was basically full of crap. She pointed out that he didn't do the assignment correctly and that he failed at being "Asian". Considering that she is an all around American mutt, I suppose that she can get away with saying that. Then again, she calls some people Wazzes... White asses. I don't know if she is being racist, politically incorrect, or making a mockery of herself...

Bad mom: gave kid doughnuts for an afternoon snack

Good mom: got the kid her dance bag before class started

Proud mom: kid is learning time management skill with regards to her homework

Bad mom: laughed at the kid today. She got hit on the head at school and one of her friends said that she was growing a unicorn horn.

Good mom: let kid eat almost all of the green beans with her dinner.

Proud mom: kid rewrote her essay on firearms and weaponry.

Bad mom: boycotted anything productive

Good mom: fixed kid biscuits and gravy for brunch

Proud mom: kid did her dance stretches, reviewed her dances and did her PT exercises
