Day #36

16 Feb, 2013
Saturday
Sleep deprived

Bad mom: told the kid we might see "Identity Thief" this weekend. Not exactly appropriate, but whatever.

Good mom: took kid to dance class in the AM and let her stay afterward so she didn't have to go grocery shopping.

Proud mom: kid got her archery set adjusted... And wants to hunt rabbits and squirrels with it. *sigh* last week she wanted to dove hunt with her .410

Day #35

Friday, 15 Feb 2013

Bad mom: allowed kid to wear tapered jeans to school. Kid got her "jeans day" and "no uniform reward days" revoked until Spring Break.

Good mom: took kid to store and had her try on lots of jeans and took pictures. Kid dances, she has big legs, today's jeans are made for kids with stick legs. Yeah, the all look "tight" on her, there's no way around it. Emailed the teacher and then talked to her. Situation resolved!

Proud mom: kid actually tried to start a petition to get rid of school uniforms.

Day #34

14 Feb 13

Happy Valentines Day!

Bad mom: didn't send kid to school with candy and cards for her class.

Good mom: let kid slide on homework with the requirement that it would get done in the morning

Proud mom: kid said "thank you" for homework help

Day #33

13 Feb 13

Bad mom: I am glad that math team is done. That is one thing that I don't have to take time off from work!

Good mom: rescheduled the kid's dental appointment so she can go to the school dance.

Proud mom: baby girl understands her choices and the commitment necessary to achieve her goals.

Day #32

February 12, 2013

Bad mom: life is a blur. Trying to recall events of that day... Oh yeah, kiddo fell in a mud puddle at PE. I didn't dry out her soaking wet shoes. She's still pissed at me about that.

Good mom: nothing spectacular. I work, am a mom, and a spouse. Made the kid's lunch, fixed dinner, chauffeured the kid, helped with homework, all the normal things associated with being a parent,

Proud mom: every day I am proud of my baby girl. She does so much, gets good grades, helps out at home, helps her friends, volunteers her time, raises money for the local pet shelter, and she expects nothing in return.

Day #31

11 Feb 2013

Bad mom: realized that my kid doesn't get an allowance or get paid for good grades. I guess she just has to suck it up and do what is expected of her.

Good mom: discussed the requirements for her to do 3 gun competitions, and what will be expected of her,

Proud mom: kid "aced" her prealgebra quiz

Day #30

Feb 10, 2013

Bad mom: made kid finish additional math worksheets

Good mom: made kid's lunch the night before

Proud mom: kid wants to do 3 gun competitions
